In order to fully enjoy high rate broadband multimediaservices, prolonging the battery lifetime of user equipmentis critical for mobile users, especially for smartphone users. Inthis work, the problem of distributing cellular data via a wirelesspower transfer enabled collaborative mobile cloud (WeCMC) inan energy efficient manner is investigated. WeCMC is formed bya group of users who have both functionalities of informationdecoding and energy harvesting, and are interested for cooperatingin downloading content from the operators. ThroughDevice-to-Device communications, the users inside WeCMC areable to cooperate during the downloading procedure and offloaddata from the base station to other WeCMC members. Whenconsidering MIMO wireless channel and wireless power transfer,an efficient algorithm is presented to optimally schedule thedata offloading and radio resources in order to maximize energyefficiency as well as fairness among mobile users. Specifically, the proposed framework takes energy minimization and Qualityof Service (QoS) requirement into consideration. Performanceevaluations demonstrate that a significant energy saving gain canbe achieved by the proposed schemes.
